Due to the lack of DFG agents Local PVE Police will have to CALLED DAILY to hold poachers.
They are responsible to Maintain Law and Order in Palos Verdes Estates.
Failure to respond to law breakers will result in written complaints
being filed on PVE officers and lawsuits.
Will Spearos call PVE Police to hold poachers ? :thumps:
Will ALL Spearos have them on speed dial ? :thumps:
I hope that PVE Wakes Up and sees this BIG Headache starting next year.
EASY FIX :thumps:
Go with a South of Point Vicente map.
Less Shoreline, Less Trails, Less Poachers, Less Shore Policeing and
RPV, Lomita Sheriff Departments Problem. LA County not a small city.
PVE get onboard with Redondo and oppose Lapis 1.
Why would they want this nightmare ?
It will cost them money when they have NEW LAWS that will need Police.
PVE Police will have to hold poachers and will be called in every time some family picks up a sea shell, litters, fishing, diving ect ANYWHERE below the High Tide Line where the reserve starts.
Chief of Police Dan Dreiling (310-378-4211, ext. 2113)
I hope Dan foresees this 'Never Ending Nightmare'
Make the call and let Dan know to start ordering hiking boots for the trails :thumps:

I like this argument
+1, quite good actually, plus police are forced to reply to called complaints unlike DFG...

Many beach cities that will have these closures will be using their local enforcement officials to police the closure areas. In Laguna beach at one of the first MLPA workshops it was stated that the lifeguards will be deputized to enforce the closures. This is a unnerving idea they thought and I hope the cities are aware that they may be setting themselves up for major lawsuits since if the lifeguards are confronting someone fishing they are not protecting the swimmers.

DockRat,
Notice how you didn't call anyone out, and produced a solid point, and guys like Miguel who have been ignoring you because you were too inflammatory agree with you? Keep your posts like this. Great point. See you at the meeting Thursday.

99% of tower guards only work in the busy summer months. In the winter the beaches are like ghost towns.

They already do a good job checking if they happen to be there. Ive had them stop me when i was putting my gear back in my truck. Ask for my lisence and check that im not taking lobster out of season. I was glad they went out of their way to check

It is fixed.
On a positive note the PVE Police will get great excercise when they discover they have miles of coastline trails to have to answer the calls of
LAW VIOLATORS at the BOTTOM OF THE TRAILS :thumps:
All the eco folks, fishermen, divers, bird watchers, joggers, hikers will be calling DFG and PVE Police to hold poachers and law breakers.
I will be on daily patrol with my 20 x 50 binos and be calling DFG and PVE Police on my drive home. I hope to get on a first name basis with DFG and all PVE Police.
Spearo/Fisherman Lawyers (yes there is some) will help in
LAWSUITS AGAINST PVE Police Department WHEN THEY FAIL TO ENFORCE LAW

sounds like you lead a very interesting life
i dont see how any law suit could/would hold up. Legally it isnt the PVE police dept's job or responsibility to be DFG wardens also. The PVE police happen to keep an eye out in my opinion because they care and they arent exactly the busiest dept. If the have to respond to a home break in or break up a fight at the high school, they are going to do their "job" first.
They are just not legally responsible for it. Thats what a warden is for.

I wonder if we should start calling NOW to see what their position is going to be on this?
I can just hear the confused tone in thier voice as they try and answer the questions.
They are going to be blindsided by this one.
