With continued boat motor problems, any major offshore adventures were put on hold...we loaded up wives, girlfriends, kids, beer, burgers, etc and set our sights on shell island, but with a new 54" AB Biller, I couldn't resist a small trip out to some nearby bridge rubble. We did one dive, 50' deep, my buddy Jeff scored a nice Snapper, 27" (especially considering we were two miles from the pass!). 5 Trigs (18"-14"), and one scamp joined the snapper in the ice box...beautiful weather and calm seas, pretty good day...

Nice to hear you went out and had a good day even with the motor porblems. Hope you get the engine figured out soon. Wish I could suggest a good boat mechanic in the area but they don't seem to exist.

Glad to hear you were able to make something happen. Great snapper by the way!

Not bad for a short little trip offshore. How packed was shell island? Last time I was there it was mobbed, which might be the norm???

Scott, glad to see you had some luck this past weekend also (Indian Pass, big snapper!)...in regards to Shell Island, summer time is basically upon us and the weekend crowd is getting pretty thick on the island, but that's ok, I typically enjoy the scenery!

Between the scenery on the island and that of the park, I really wish spearing was legal in those waters. Oh yeah, the fish are nice there too.
