And the moment you have all been waiting for, here is all of the details for both the Level II Classes coming up in December. Due to a scheduling conflict, we wil be rescheduling the Level I Course.

If you have not seen our new November Specials post, please note you will receive a $100 Credit towards gear when you sign up for one of these FII Classes.

LEVEL II-For the diver who is comfortable in the water, looking to get to depth and learn proper water techniques

Dates: December 10-13, 2009
Price: $595

Day 1: Classroom, Pool, Classroom
Day 2: Pool, Classroom then Ocean in afternoon
Day 3: Classroom & Ocean
Day 4: Ocean then Classroom for Exam and wrap up

Note: A boat will be required for the Level II course due to maximum depth needed. Boat charges are additional and will depend on the number of students. I have arranged a very nice 50ft sportfisher, for VERY cheap.

Gear Requirements for Class:

Low Volume Mask-NO MIRRORED LENS
Standard J Snorkel (no flex)
Long blades (recommended fiberglass or carbon)
Fin Keepers
Suit (5mm or 7mm)
Booties & Gloves (thin booties to avoid compression at depth)
Weightbelt (rubber or neoprene)
Weights: 1 & 2lbs recommended
FreeDiving Computer (HIGHLY recommended)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask, call, PM, or email! I will have special gear packages available for those that need gear.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The possibility of a two weekend class is fantastic. I was going to start negotiations with my CFO and Santa when I read the equipment requirements for level 2. We really need CF or fiberglass fins? And a dive computer? Darn.

Can we use our own boat for open water day of course (depending on price of your charter)?

As far as the own boat thing, no we are going to be on the water for about 3 hours working in a class, and we need the class participants to split up the charter. Unless...you have a big enough boat for all of us..and a captain to stay on board while the class is going. We need you to be 100 focused on the class at all times.

Jeff:

Just saw your questions. They HIGHLY prefer fiberglass or carbon fins...if you have a quality set of long blades, Im sure you will be fine. As for a dive computer, yes that is a requirement. But with a $100 gear credit, computers aren't that much!!

If there is one thing you want to invest into more than anything else is a GOOD WETSUIT. Spend the cash and get and open-cell yamamoto suit. Once they teach you how to lower you heart rate, you're going to FREEZE!!! Trust me.

Yazbeck suits are great they are yamamoto rubber. Don't settle for any other rubber. You need to be flexible!!! Dive computer is very good to have. I recommend a Suunto D4 or a Aeris F10 (the new watch Martin Stepanek help design and endorses).

Don't fret too much about the cf or fiberglass, just have longblades. You'll probably end up buying new fins after the class anyways. :thumps:

Hi All, ok our instructor had a scheduling conflict for the Level I class. Level II class is still on and we have a couple more spots (max we are taking is 6).

Is there any place I can read about the class, its instructor, their qualifications, etc??
I know a few divers that are interested in this class but don't know much about it.
Looking on your web site it did not have any info available.
Any help would be appreciated.
