Gag Reflex One Day Trip - This Sunday

There must be a lot of surface tension out there, so here's an opportunity to get out and shoot.

Meet in Port Richey this Sunday at 6:00AM. This is a one day trip, so we'll return by 4:00PM. We are planning to hit rock piles in the 50-80 fsw range, targeting grouper, amberjacks, mangos, and hogfish.

Three tanks, at least three dives. You keep everything you shoot, and no one will shoot into your limit.

Cost: $75 per person, and there are four spots available.

Deepfish is the Captain, and I'll be on board as well.

Any idea on the water temp?

It was about 57 when we dived in that depth range a couple of weeks ago. We had that very cold weather, but now followed with milder weather. The Middle Grounds buoy says 63. My best guess is that the water we'll be diving in Sunday will be around 57 again given the warm-up after the front. Vis should be sweet.

Been out since 2:00AM yesterday when we left for the middle grounds. I'll have a report on that trip tomorrow, including a giant true black grouper that was harvested by one of the shooters on board (estimated at 65+). You've got to hear about this one, and I've got the photos to put up. But since it's been 48 hours without sleep, my nitrogen enriched body is going to hit the rack.

Scott, fishkilla, would be great to have you along. You too dlock, so hope you can make it some time. This Sunday's trip is in jeopardy because the extremely poor visability that we experienced today in the Middle Grounds is causing concern about how it is closer in, so I'll be working on getting a vis report. We don't want to take anyone out that isn't going to have good diving conditions and a shot a filling their stringer. More tomorrow ....

Guys, a decision was made not to run the trip this Sunday. Given the poor visability in the Middle Grounds, and some vis reports we heard closer in, we'd rather wait until we know you're going to get some good shooting in. I'll keep you posted, and apologize for the cancellation.
