Great dive calm as hell- High tidewas about 3:45PM.
The fish were all in feeding - Popped a 18 inch Tog real fast and went out looking for another. The goal was dinner. I wanted to grill 1 and then turn the other into fish tacos this week- Saw lots of action - Strippers - Tog some other flat fish. About 35 minutes in I turned to head back to my point of entry when out of the blue- green came what looked like a 6 inch by 4 inch mass with fins heading right at me fast. I realized quickly that I was looking dead on a Tog about 8 feet away and closeing . I swung up my Rhino gun and whack- took it down. Biggest Tog I have ever shot 22 1/2 inches. He put up a good one.. ..but I have him marinating in Extra V and Lime juice.

Same day two towns to the west, 17 year old Jeremy took 3 tautog over 20 inches!

Right On - they look great.
An FYI- Tog gets real chewy if overcooked. But the marinate and a light searing keeps them light an moist.

Garlic
Onion powder
Chili powder
Cumin
Salt
Pepper
Extra V
Shit loads of Lime Juice - Fresh
(Let sit for 24hrs)

Pan sea and then reduce the rest of the marinate w/ biit o red wine- pour on fish.

Nice shooting!

I went to Sachest Point in RI and dove at Island Rocks. Shot two really big taug! Vis was funny, off and on.

I saw four big strippers and was diving down to get a bead on any one of them, when my snorkel went glub glub, and they screwed.

Later, I saw a nice big striper and just couldn't turn and get a bead. I tried to move slow but he kept moving. I dropped down into a hole and there were some stripers, just could get close enough...

overall excellent dive, nice place to bring a bubble watcher!

Going to Scusset beach this afternoon.

So, did you wind up eating any stripper tacos?

Everybody was eating and swapping.

Ok Ok I'll clean it up -and check spelling next time - I will over the week end - I'll be out on the water for a couple of days- in RI sound- hope to hit some.
