I was wondering if anyone else had any bad experiences working with padauk?

Wood Database shows its allergies/toxity the same as teak and other woods...nothing out of the normal.

With the hot weather and sweating a lot, the fine red dust seems to stick on my arms.

At first I thought the skin irritation was due to several hours sun exposure in S. Florida, but most of the year is hot in Florida.

My arms end up getting extremely itchy and I can't stop sratching them.

I've used other woods....teak, mahogany, wenge, tiger wood, leopardwood...and don't recall havening the same results.

I tried to improve the perfectly fine track I had cut when the gun was still square and messed up...
Now I had to re-pour the track and will have to cut a new one. Problem is, now the gun is shaped and I removed all straight egdes...

Anyone has a suggestion how to do that?
I thought of clamping straight and parallel pieces of wood on either side of the gun to have a reference.

Any other ideas?

thanks

Is 50cm a good length for that distance or should I go for a 70cm? I'd also like to hear opinions on the tempest vs the Mares Cyrano, is it worth the extra $100?

Was in a bit of a rush to finish this gun but I have it done in time for my next dive trip. 80cm roller gun. Shoots a 7.5mm shaft with a 16mm rubber which is stretched reallllllyyyyy far and a double wrap of line. Quite difficult to load, I put a bit of pretension on it. I used the new roller front from Meandros meant for carbon and timber builds as well as one of his reverse mechanisms. Handle is from the denton of course. I made the stainless trigger guard and plate up myself though, getting better at them.

It has two layers of 200gsm twil carbon on it with an additional decorative layer of 207gsm 12K ordinary weave on the bottom. Doesn't look too flash in the pictures as they are off my iPhone but I had it all grubby with hand prints on the phils epoxy clear coat.

Fellow spearos,

I'm putting this beautiful WONG 60 GR PLUS up for sale!!!

reason: getting another one. That's right, these guns are so bad-ass, I simply
want to get a different one but I just can't afford to buy the next gun
without getting rid of this one...

I originally purchased this gun for a trip from a diver in the keys who didn't use it much and it shows. Personally I've only used it a few times and can tell you the gun is deadly accurate! I'm known for being very meticulous and have kept it very clean and lubed. It's in great condition and has only a couple of barely noticeable minor scuffs from regular use.
Please keep in mind that I'm in no hurry to sell this gun, no unreasonable offers please.

Here are the terms:

WONG 60 GR PLUS in dessert camou paint job.

- gun with reel, line, and new bands $850.00 plus shipping.

- gun without reel and with original bands $750.00 plus shipping.

SOLD!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, thanks in advance.

Hey guys, so I’m going to be embarking on my first gun build here in the near future. I’m thinking it’s going to be a nice 3 band hybrid, final size to be determined later. Unfortunately, I live in a small apartment in LA, so I’m not going to have access to the woodworking tools necessary to do a full on nice build. So I have a couple questions, my day job is as a mechanical designer for aerospace… so designing up a nice hybrid gun would be relatively easy for me (order the parts, break out the calipers, then design up a nice looking stock to accommodate it all). So my first question is, does anyone know any decently priced woodworking shops that have a CNC router at their disposal or who’d be willing to work off of detailed drawings? If a got a price that wasn’t too bad I’d probably go all out on my build: carbon fiber barrel, etc. since I would know my build quality would be much higher. If that stock price comes out too high for me though, I’m probably going to do a lower quality build to be more realistic to what the final product would come out like (it’d be my first build, and my tools would be sub par (we’re talking like dremmel here or something cause that’s about all that would fit in my apartment-- I'd have to get creative). Also if anyone does have a cnc router or woodshop at their disposal, I could possibly do some bartering with you. For instance, design you a custom gun in exchange for use of the tool. I could literally take this from design to completion, CAD, CAM, everything… just need someone with a CNC. Anyways, I’d appreciate any help. Thanks guys.
