Loading Beuchat Marlin Revolution and Mako

On a scale from 1 to 10, how hard is it to load the Beuchat Marlin Revolution, compared to a Mako speargun of the same length?

Example: Marlin Revolution: 6, Mako: 8

Hi Max, I see a lot of people have read your thread but have not left a comment.

I am no expert and can not offer any info on the Mako.

The Beuchat Revolution is very nice gun but one of the down side for me was its loading time.

Here is a little video of Pedro Carbonell :

Beuchat Marlin Revolution Speargun - YouTube
Please note: The comment that it has "no recoil" is not accurate according to me.

It is a heavy gun and absorbs a lot of recoil but to say it has non is false.

Watch after the 4:00 mark, see how long it takes to load on land. When in the water it took me what felt like 4 times that long. Double wraps because it is only short just turned to spaghetti.

I have not played with a Mako speargun.

Hope that helps a little.

Others may be abe to correct me or add their experience.

Regards

Darren.

The bands are easy to draw, just like all Euro gun (IMO)

That is a benefit of the roller. You get more tensile force onto the 20mm rubber than what would ordinarily be possible with a standard gun.

imho all railguns and euro guns are the same to load once you get used to them, I have rob allens and they are both easy to load once you get the form down

I watched the video on the roller gun. A very unique gun, I have seen one at a tournament prize table before, but never used it. It looks to be very well made.

I think anyone who watches that video will understand that a "normal" railgun (like a mako) will be quicker and easier to reload than that roller gun.

If you are looking for a railgun that is exceptionally fast and easy to load, you should defnitely take a look at the MAKO ETR (enclosed track).

If someone is concerned about the amount of force needed to load a speargun, often you can use 2 bands that are a little longer and still maintain more than enough power.
