Freediving Iceland - Clearest water in the world & Icebergs

Thought this may be of interest to some. I was in Iceland last month and dived the clearest water in the world between the tectonic plates of North America & Eurasia. Also found some icebergs to get...

Hi All, perhaps you may have seen my video from last years trip where I missed out on a halibut. This year I did my research and it paid off...

United Kingdom Spearfishing

I don't see too much UK spearfishing chat on here so I thought I'd share the largest competition that goes on over here.

Re: Heading off to Iceland!

Spearguns are illegal there unfortunately. I've heard a hand spear is okay but struggled to find any legislation to confirm or deny.

Re: Nile-Tec?

Don't buy from this guy. The mechanism are rubbish and seize up with anything more than one band. I had communication problems with him 4 years ago. I wasted entire carbon wrapped guns using his crap...

Re: Tonga/Bluewater Gun Recommendation

I was in Tonga last year and the biggest doggies were landed with slip tips. My mate & I used a riffe bluewater with a wing kit, 3/8" x 6ft shaft with riffe ice picks. If you got the spear into the...

Re: My first carbon wrapped gun

Ahhhhh you went the sock! Something I should probably do as it looks a fair bit less labour intensive than two halves like I do. That glass finish surely isn't straight out of the bag? Looks bloody...

Re: 80cm Carbon roller

Hi BLT, I think the actual part that the rubber rolls on it around 20-25mm so overall quite a bit larger than say the apnea muzzle. My mates roller with the apnea muzzle has smaller rollers and its a...

Re: 666 Bluewater Hybrid Speargun

Not to mention, sand paper, outlay for tooling/plant, router bits, paint brushes, acetone, disposable gloves, drill bits, epoxy, pigments, line anchors, electricity, wasted timber, fasteners ect, the...

Re: Possible Summer Build

4 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep? Mate that is waaayyyyyyy overkill. I made a 130 that was 2 inches wide and about 1 3/8" high. Floated a 7.5mm spear really well and had to add a bit of lead.

Re: Carbon fiber gun build ideas

Well done on the build. Especially without a vacuum setup. Vaccing tends to give a really clear carbon look because there are no bubbles. I am intrigued by the sleeve, my supplier has it but never...

Re: Powering up a mako ETR with 3x 16mm bands

Hey Kevin, that gun has a striking resemblance to the Bucanero rail gun, same mech, handle and funky barrel shape.

Re: rollerguns- look good on paper only?

That's a double inverted roller. Pretty awesome. Those are the builds that take it that much further than getting a square blank and slapping on a handle and trigger mech, a few holes for bands and...

Re: rollerguns- look good on paper only?

Not necessarily, simple fix by adding a longer bit of dyneema or cord over the bridle to grasp it that way.

Re: rollerguns- look good on paper only?

Unfortunately I did not make that particular speargun. It is a full composite gun made with a foam core and prepreg carbon. It was made by someone on medfish who goes by the name of Seal. He makes...
