Re: Neah Bay

Here is a dish I made with the ling cod.

Seared ling cod with sautéed corn, pardon chiles, and shiitake mushrooms. A carrot juice wine butter sauce and cilantro lime vingarette.

Hmm, chose...

Re: Neah Bay

Thanks for the pointer on the double flopper, I will have to try that out. I mostly just always dove solo because I only drove a few minutes to the dive site and wanted to get food. Now it is going...

Had a great time out at Neah Bay on August 7th through the 9th. Never dove out there before and finally motivated to take a couple days off work and head on over. The vis was quite variable but on...

Re: Trim weight belt?

It may be a bit long if you use pinch style weights. I use all pinch weights and cut a bit off mine. It is still pretty long, I used to kind of tuck it in, leaving a loop that was still easy to...

Re: Late Barview shout out?

I switched to a reel and so far like it. I feel very free. I had been running float line to a float, always strung the fish off the float area, but seemed like a pain. Then tried float line and...

Re: Seal Rock Today

I always have wanted to hit this area up since it is right down the road from me. But, every time I go to do it. The water is brown. I'd agree a kayak seems like a much better option to get to...

Re: Sinus infections

Thank you for the info, I really need to heal up and get back in the water ASAP. I've always found myself taking part in hobbies that mess with my body. Thinking about it, I know it has all been...

Re: Sinus infections

Today I got what I think is the sinus squeeze, pain above left eye and got a bloody nose. Felt pain on first drop and had no clue why. Hoping it doesn't turn into an infection.

I think I will...

Pole Spear for OR/PNW Questions

Thinking about getting a pole spear but the more I look into it, the more companies and options I find.

Re: Tolovana Video

Awesome, I love that some of you guys make vids of Oregon spearfishing. I wish I had a GoPro, but doubt I'll get one anytime soon. A nice pole spear and kayak are much higher on the list.

Re: N.W. Visibility Updates

Newport fingers had decent vis on the high, but was all white caps and hard to not have waves fill my snorkel. Getting in and out was fun and now I have to rinse off my vehicle because the spray was...

Re: N.W. Visibility Updates

Newport south jetty area has been like what Tom is talking about. It looks clear near the shore rocks, but once I get 10 feet away from shore and drop down a couple feet it turns to soup.

Re: First video attempt

Cool video! Those cameras are so cool. I will have to get one someday.

Today I couldn't see my fins and kept running my spear tip into the rocks I didn't see in front of me.

I may be out at Newport fingers tomorrow. I'm a total noob, but maybe I'll see you guys out there. Depends on if I get off work early enough.

Re: Float Line

Oh, well that will be even easier than I was thinking. Some more questions:
