I asked Dano at Mako spearguns to make a custom AR15 TinMan gun for Striped bass this summer off Fisher's Island, NY. They cut it to 82cm and rigged it with a reel. This thing is awesome. Loving it...

It never snapped on me. I was just saying that instead of taking the risk of using a flopper and letting the whole shaft go into the reef, it's better to use a slip tip...saves the pole spear from...

As far as pole spears go, the Riffe is the best there is. It's lightning fast, even when I have my extra extensions installed. The longest I've tried using it is 11' with the extended tail section...
