X-mas List - Freediving Computer
All,
My anniversary and Christmas are right around the corner and I’m thinking of putting a wrist mount computer on my “I want it” list. However, I’m not sure which one to purchase. I’ve got a Genesis computer in my Scuba console but it doesn’t have a free diving mode. 1. I’d like it to be a wrist mount and have a long enough strap to put on OVER my wetsuit. 2. I’d also like to keep it below $400. 3. It would be nice to have a second computer for Scuba, so I’d like Air and Nitrox capability. I’ve looked at the Oceanic Geo 2.0, the Cressi Edy II, Aris Manta, Sunnto D4 and I’m sure there are some others out there. But I really want to know what you guys think of the different computers, which ones are your favorites and why? What makes them a good computer over another? Personally I’m kind of leaning towards the Oceanic Geo but ran into the Cressi earlier today so I obviously don’t have all the information. And yes, I did a search for free dive computers and came back with some pretty good information. What I'd like to know is what you guys think of the different models you use.

Re: X-mas List - Freediving Computer
Here's a pretty cool one: http://liquivision.com/xen.php
It's only a bottom timer and depth gauge, so not a computer but great for freediving. Still good for scuba if you're doing more technical diving with tables and/or a backup depth gauge. The coolest part is the screen itself since it uses an OLED screen that has ultra high contrast so you can read it day or night, any angle, with no light. |

I have a Suunto Mosquito that I will sell you. It has the same freedive features as the Suunto D3 and also has Air/Nitrox as well.
They are great for what you are looking for. Well under you price range too. Send me a PM if interested. Aloha, Chad

Re: X-mas List - Freediving Computer
If purchased from authorized dealer, Suunto D4 comes with 5 year warranty, and 2 year battery free replacement. Its about $400 i think. Awesome for both freediving and scuba. I wear mine most of the time when not diving, good looking watch.
