Scorpion Tail Modifications
So I bought the Headhunter Scorpion Tail at the Blue Wild this year. I like the perspective that it provides, but after using it on a trip, I found it difficult to determine the correct angles for shooting. Since there are two pivot points, the arm attached to the belt, and the camera attached to the arm, it was a guess as to whether I was going to get decent video. So I decided to do a couple simple modifications. I used a hand drill to drill both holes, an aluminum tent stake for the stop at the belt pivot, and a tap and matching bolt & nut for the stop at the camera point. I haven't tried it out yet, but it should be a matter of locking in the angle for the camera now that the arm will always be in the same spot.

Re: Scorpion Tail Modifications
Hey, how is the scorpion tail and the modification you made working out for you? I'm interested in ordering one when they come back in stock but haven't heard too many reports or reviews on it. Thanks man.

Re: Scorpion Tail Modifications
It's working out pretty well. I don't worry about camera angle anymore. When I'm not recording, I keep the camera up by my head so it's easy to turn on and pivot the arm back to the stop. There are two things that I have to get used to. First, I rely on the beeps from the camera to let me know if it's recording or not. I can't hear them when using the Scorpion because the camera is out of the water and my ears are under. Second, it's one more thing to attach to me and I'm used to my weight belt only. So there are times when I just use my mask mount and not the Scorpion, but others when I am determined to get used to it and wear it anyway. I'll take it with me Saturday and try to catch myself shooting a fish and post the link.

Re: Scorpion Tail Modifications
Awesome yea that would be great man. Thanks for the update. The video they have on their site is pretty cool and if it's not too much of a hassle to use I think it would be a really cool angle to get footage from. Thanks for responding!
