Re: Tails of the Deep
Yeah, it was a little sobering to think that a long time ago, people were going through a really bad time on that exact spot.....no hurricane forecast back in those days.
And Rob, yep...Jason got the bell! Gonna have AUE Mike take a look at it...hopefully at Hooters over a cold one. Who knows, maybe the ships name will be on it and legible.

Re: Tails of the Deep
sweeeeeeeet stuff guys. sounds like I am inflicting even more spearos with brass disease!
just got back from a two-week hardcore wrecking trip to the UK this morning. I was going to post about it and the kick-ass bell that was recovered on one dive over there, but then Jason goes down and just picks one up like it ain't but a thang. that is just too funny. congrats on your entry to the bell club! good thing Dan didn't make you offer tribute like the UK boat captains do when they put their divers on a bell -- you can see what I am talking about on the AUE website (scroll down the website for blog-like entries from my dives over there). Let's definitely get together and do some diving. After doing three+ hour dives in dark 52-degree water I am looking forward to some warm Florida fun!

Re: Tails of the Deep
Mike,
Not too sure what to do with the bell. I just put it on the back porch for the dog to lick on it for a while. Thanks again Dan, Ricky, Kenny, Steve and Rich. As allways, it was a blast. Jason
