Thank you and the team for your continued efforts to look out for our consumptive rights.
That's awesome Tino. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the forecast is incredibly nasty. Very high wind and big short period swell. Its going to be a washing machine out there. The event will still be a blast and I'm definitely going, but I sure hope all the divers use their brains and dive safe spots.

Re: 10th Annual Big Ab Big Ling Dive Event June 11th 2016

Yeah, it's a bummer. I sent you a PM. There are some real protected spots up there that will still be safe to enter/exit. And abs are stupid abundant, so you'd still get your abs no problem. But they probably won't have much size to them and getting fish will be especially tough (they hole up when it's rough). If you make it up, feel free to come by and say hi. I'll be in Kabin 8.

Re: 10th Annual Big Ab Big Ling Dive Event June 11th 2016

The 10th Annual Big Ab Big Ling Dive Event on June 11th 2016 was one of the best yet.

This year like many others had ocean conditions predicted to be nothing short of nautical. We were blessed with slightly better conditions than predicted but the ocean was not happy to say the least.
The 114 divers (9 women 4 Juniors (11-15)) were treated to heavy surge and fast succession sets along with the gusty wind that picked up after 11am. However, attendees at the KOA were able to sit out in the high 60’s sun and enjoy a beautiful afternoon.
Everyone stayed safe, which is our highest priority and had a great time enjoying the excellent company and delicious chili assorted dishes thanks to Morgan, Papa Frank, and crew at the lunch counter.
Our wonderful sponsors donated over $6500 worth of prizes and gift certificates which we cannot thank them enough for their support and generosity.
With their donations and money donated in the raffle, we were able to write a check to the Pacific Community Charter School in Point Arena for $8229.26, and $1500 to the Waterman's Alliance for Josh Russo’s efforts on the Abalone front.
That is a lot of money for only 250 or so people to generate and shows the kind of heart this tribe embodies, year after year.
We need to take a second to thank our sponsors because without their support we would not be able to do what we do.
Please make sure to use these companies as your first place to look for wetsuits, spearguns, dive gear/clothing, taxidermy and dive trips, as they supported our community when we needed them.
There are a lot of great people who are make this event what it is and without their dedication and support it would not be possible. Thank you most to my wife Jennifer and family as they are the real reason everyone has such an awesome weekend. And a Great big “Thank You” to the Manchester KOA and their staff, they take such great care to make sure we have the best time.
The event and raffle are a lot of fun, but the Pot Luck dinner Saturday night has always been my favorite.
Not one person left without being stuffed to the gills with delicious food, cherries and desserts. For all of those that participated and offered up your delicious creations thank you for sharing with everyone.
Delicious food and excellent people are what I love most and Saturday night we had an abundance of both.
Thank you everyone for driving and diving safe that weekend and we hope to see you back next year for our 11th anniversary.
June 10th 2017…Same place, Same good time. Did I really just announce that??? I must be crazy
