Re: my 145 denton
Very nice work Fred! It seems like you made a beautiful gun!
Did you use carbon fiber in between the laminate? I also wonder how your attached the handle to the metal back plate? Can you give some specs like overall length, band stretch, type of bands, shaft length etc. ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: my 145 denton
Holy Crap that came out incredibly well! Congrats and great job! Only 10cm of shaft drop at 8 meters is something people have to see before they believe it. People think I am crazy when I ask them to try a shot at a target at 8 meters … they just can't believe you just aim and the shaft will hit a little bit low. It is pretty funny to see their reaction when they are easily able to hit the target at that distance.
With the Sigalsub purple bands … those are tough bands to pull back and I have to say I don't like their performance. If you go with 14.7mm Primelines … very nice and stretch … easy to pull back even at 380% … and much better power with less effort and less recoil. The Sigal purple 14.5mm … @360% with new bands … total ball busters to pull back! Maybe the newer batches of Sigal are good though … but the batch I got are really hard and not stretchy. |

The gun came out great! Did you get to add much ballast to get it neutral?

Hello spearq8 I find the extremes much more flexible than the reactive but now I test the Kent sandals elastomer 14,5mm small id on sale at benthicsportshop still very flexible at 420% |

I got some of the grey 15mm small ID from Benthic but never had a chance to give it a try though. I like stretchy bands so long they are not too stretchy where they lack power (for example I don't like the Salvimar green stuff). 420% sounds way too much! I calculate band stretch as simply the distance of the band slot to the shark fin the x 2 and then divide by 3.8 (for 380%). I don't factor in the length of the wishbone and the turn around area of the muzzle. |
