got this guy off a big manta ray. At first i just saw the ray and hoped to see a cobia or two on it but when i thought there was none i pulled my buoy in to grab my camera...but then i saw the cobia lagging behind. so i forgot about the camera and took him out instead. almost got myself the ray too when the cobia tried to hide underneath it.

Re: 1/9/10
sick picture! those cobes like to stay right under neath, you always need to swim down and check under them just in case.

Re: 1/9/10
Thank you. they do have 3-5 little spikes in front of their dorsal fin but im pretty sure besides poking you there is no danger(that i know of). Dove out of south pbc area. we were just doing a quick beach dive in the morning. Got in the water at 7ish and the conditions were pretty sketchy. The steam from the water was about 3ft high and you couldnt see anything around you...only 3 boats passed by and luckily the were somewhat far away. besides 1 50ft sport fish that came pretty close.

Re: 1/9/10
At first the fog didnt seem that bad, but when we got to the reef It was pretty thick, it had me a little nervous at first specially because I lost sight of him for a minute... The steam was low to the water and very few boats travel the area, so I figured that we were ok as long as we were together, after an hour or so in the water it pretty much disappeared
