your florida spearo buds need local help
Hi All,
were a spearfishing team of 4 from tampa area. we run to the middle grounds and elbow in our area. both 90 miles each way. 100-185ft. were free shafters. but have some line knowhow. were wanting to do a trip to Miss/Alabama/LA to shoot some rigs. need a local to take us, hook us up with some one that can take us,or trade. we run a 39 yellowfin and would reciprocate. ideally we would pick june 12 or 19 weekends. prefer to have both and pick the best weather window. 1/2 our guys and gear drive from tampa and the other half from TX. plz help us make our dreams come true chris 214-679-6095 chris@sealtex.com hunt safe!

Re: your florida spearo buds need local help
We don't have that many rigs in Alabama and they get hit hard. Mississippi requires a really long run and the vis is hit or miss. Louisiana has so many rigs you're bound to find something and they don't have a whole lot of pressure so they're usually pretty productive. Also with Louisiana you can rent a houseboat in Venice with an ice machine on the back porch and have everything you need.
Also, check out this website for rigs that are in state waters. A long cast can be the difference between state and federal rigs and you don't want to be hooked up to the wrong one if you get red snapper. http://ldwf.maps.arcgis.com/apps/web...9114fb6a356888 Diving the rigs is an experience and you should be able to get some good fish if the Feds don't close everything by the end of the month. Check out Mark Primo. I know you didn't ask about charters but he seems to get it done and leaves out of MS. If you want to do something out of P'cola let me know and I can point you to a few of the charters who have Federal Reef permits. With your experience the Chevron or Tenneco towers or even Oriskany might be appealing.

Ronnie would be my suggestion as well. He runs spear dat charters.
The Helldivers club would be the other spot. I'm not really sure how to reach out but they have a Facebook and someone may respond if you post on there. https://m.facebook.com/Hell-Divers-S...9426229154852/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
