Dear North Coast Community Members,

The MPA Monitoring Enterprise, in collaboration with the California Department of Fish and Game, invites you to join us for a series of informal public gatherings designed to offer community members an opportunity to ask questions and engage in a dialogue with our team about marine protected area (MPA) monitoring. These “Meet & Greets” will provide an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to the North Coast community, to learn about local monitoring perspectives and priorities, and to discuss the process for developing a North Coast MPA Monitoring Plan and Baseline Program.

A flyer with details on these events can be found on our website at http://monitoringenterprise.org/pdf/...r_Aug_2012.pdf and as an attachment to this email. Thank you in advance for sharing this information with other community members who may be interested in attending!

“Meet & Greets” will be held at three locations in the North Coast region:

Monday, August 13: Fort Bragg (4:00 – 6:00pm)
St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church
Larsen Hall
Corner of Fir and Franklin
Fort Bragg, CA 95437
(707) 964-1900

Wednesday, August 15: Eureka (5:00 – 7:00pm)
Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center
Rooms 211/212
921 Waterfront Drive
Eureka, CA 95501
(707) 443-4222

Thursday, August 16: Crescent City (5:00 – 7:00pm)
Tolowa Event Center
Naa-svt Me’-ne’ Room
350 North Indian Road
Smith River, CA 95567
(707) 487-7777

Please RSVP by contacting Kelsey Rugani (krugani@kearnswest.com or 415-391-7900). Light fare will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you! If you are unable to join us, don’t worry, there will be additional opportunities to meet with the Monitoring Enterprise and provide input to inform the development of the North Coast MPA Monitoring Plan in the coming months.

For more information about the Monitoring Enterprise and our work in the North Coast region, please contact our North Coast liaison, Kelly Sayce, at 707-832-4088 or kelly@strategicearth.com, or visit www.monitoringenterprise.org

Best regards,
Tess Freidenburg
