Dive weight

I'm 6', 186 lbs, wearing a 7mm closed cell suite, farmer John suite how much weight do I need?
3 mm open cell fj 9 pounds
5 mm open cell fj 11 pounds
7mm closed fj?

Someone much wiser than myself stated in a video to start at 10% of your body weight. When treading water your collar bone should just be at the surface. Give or take a couple of pounds this will be the proper weight for 30' of depth. I tried this in my 7mm suit and it was spot on.
