i went this morning and viz was like 1-2, it was horrible way too choppy and bad rip on the beach side of BI, i know you cant dive in the inlet on the weekends. tomorrow sounds like it could be a lot nicer, if anyone wants to go.

Except as provided in this subsection, no person or persons shall, while engaged in goggle fishing, spearfishing or skin diving, enter into any navigable channel or approach within 200 feet of any boat anchored or underway within the water adjacent to the land areas of the Borough of Barnegat Light. 2. No person shall dive in any of the waters of the Barnegat Inlet channel. 3. Skin and Scuba diving is permitted from the north and south jetties, but no person shall dive further than 25 feet from the rock jetty or bulkhead within the inlet. 4. No person shall dive within Barnegat Inlet between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on Saturdays and Sundays from June 1 to September 30. 5. A diver shall mark his or her position with a float and skin diver's flag. 6. Only "buddy diving" shall be permitted in the Barnegat Inlet. 7. Recreational diving is prohibited within 100 feet of the north monument. 8. Recreational diving is prohibited within the inlet when the current is at flood. (Snip) http://scubanj.org/NJdiverules.html

BOATING/WATERCRAFT N.J.A.C. 7:2-8.7 (2015) § 7:2-8.7 Swimming and diving from objects, scuba diving, and skin diving (a) A person shall not swim or dive from a pier, catwalk, bridge or tower on lands comprising part of a State Park and administered by the State Park Service for public recreation and/or conservation purposes or from any vessel on waters under the jurisdiction of the State Park Service without written approval by the Superintendent or designee. (b) A person shall not scuba or skin dive in the waters under the jurisdiction or control of the State Park Service except in areas designated and posted for that purpose. HISTORY: Amended by R.2007 d.155, effective May 7, 2007. See: 38 N.J.R. 4779(a), 39 N.J.R. 1701(a). In (a), substituted "Superintendent or designee" for "area Officer-in-Charge".
