Vincent Landing Tomales

Good day Spearos - Was wondering if anyone has taken the road out to Vincent's Landing and launched a kayak from the beach? I am looking at doing some clamming in a few weeks and am really po'd at Lawson Landing's new BS policy. The place I like to hit though is unfortunately right in front of LL Bait shop area. Looking at the map however, it appears I can get to the same area and at the same time avoid LL's greed. That is, if I can get to it. Thank you and take care.

It won't work. That area is desert when the tide is not high enough. I have walked out there from Nicks.

What's their new policy ?

I haven't been there in a while. What is the new policy?

I was told they changed the rules to where you cannot launch your kayak anywhere along the beach or break wall anymore. You have to pay the $3+ launch fee and wait your turn at the ramp. This does not include the "new" $10 day use pass. It may not seem like a lot, but still it's BS.

So 2 questions. Is that area private or can I technically drive down to the beach area (there is a turn off from Dillon Beach Road)? And, is there a way to take your kayak out of there and ride the channel down to where the clams are? Thank you.

I know which road you are talking about. It's private.

So Nicks Cove is the only other option?

Paul
If you come up north to go clamming please call me.
No need for a shovel and we will target gapers/horse necks (10 limit) and manila/little necks (50 limit).
You can kayak if you want but my inflatable is far more enjoyable

Tino, we are coming this weekend, and was thinking Monday AM to try for flattibutts at Lawson's for a couple hours.
Will be up with the OC Spearos for Saturday, then diving Noyo Sunday to look around Sunday, then drive home Monday.

No time for clamming on this round, but will keep this in mind!
