The whole day was less then 4 miles ( east north and west) of pasco 2 reef. The tiger was seen at pasco 2 by a tank
The king was shot on a ledge north east of pasco2

I know exactly where that ledge is NE of Pasco 2 - great spot and I've seen tons of variety there.

Temp was 78-79. We seen 1 6 foot tiger shark and a couple of other reef sharks. Nothing was aggressive, just curious. All in all it was a great day!!

Nice King!

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Out of anclote:
35' - 25-30'. Light gumbo floating around
45' - 25-30 just hazy
52' - 30' hazy this was spot seemed a lot cooler then the others... forgot to check the gps for temp all day.

Seems like all the rain and wind muddied it up a bit...

No sharks seen, however my buddy seen a couple in 45' on some ledges. It was sooo smooth yesterday afternoon! Forecast was off! And thankfully so! No rain at all until we started driving home around 5ish. Between both boats, aj's were taken a few hogs and some snapper. Not a lot of mangos, most were small. Gags everywhere!

12 more days!!!!!

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

37 miles off Hernando Beach. Decided to give it a shot instead of our usual spots west of Anclote. Nice drive out with long rollers under 2 feet. Stopped closer in at 32 feet first on an old spot of mine that I haven't hit in years. Viz wasn't great and so not too productive, but James and my brother saw nice ARS . . . . in 32 feet of water! Got a few hogs.

Headed out to 52 feet on spots I haven't dove in 3 years and some other spots I had numbers for but never dove.

JACKPOT! Me and Tim dove one spot that was LOADED with fish. Huge gags (saw one that had to be at least 36 inches), monster ARS (some that to my eyes looked north of 30 inches), lots of mangos (found them!) and some nice hogs. I shot my limit of hogs in 10 minutes on this spot and there were at least a dozen more that I saw.

Video to come - no sharks that I saw, great viz in 50+ feet, no current. Also encountered and got video of some fish I had never seen before - Orange Filefish. Very cool!

Coming back in was awesome - I did WOT at 37 mph almost all the way back in. Weather was great and only saw lightning once and that further south and east inland.

Lot of radio chatter all day on 16 - lots of groundings, injuries, missing kayaker, etc. Glad I wasn't anywhere near Pasco or Pinellas.

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Went SW out of Clw pass Sat 5/19/18 to 7 spots in 57 to 64 foot. Calm day. 75 degrees for the water. Horizontal viz about 30'. Vertical about 50'. Can make out bottom upon rolling in.

Saw lots of dolphins while on surface. Few turtles on surface and 3 others while in water.

Few fish here. Few there. 2 divers. 10 male hogs, 9 mangos (got my first 3 fer, with 3 on one shot!) 2 nice lions. Overall great day with great viz, nice temp, calm seas.

Dude, it was awesome. One of my best days in a long time. Granted, we did over 92 miles in the boat, but the conditions were great and once we got out past 50 fsw we were golden. Can't wait to explore more in the area.

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

Took my dad hook and line fishing Saturday in 45' (he doesn't spearfish). Vis looked to be about 30 or so feet. water was very clean and tons of bait around. Caught out of season gags and hooked several kings, landed one to about 25lb.

So far I've been using some from a variety of sources - haven't dove any of the ones I bought from Strikeline, though, since the vast majority are in Pinellas county. There is a real lack of good numbers or lots of numbers to buy or trade for in Pasco and Hernando.

I'm always looking to trade some of my 7500 numbers in other places for new spots in Pasco and Hernando.

Video from Saturday. The Orange Filefish were the highlight of my day, but damn the ARS and gags in the video were HUGE!
