Re: Need Advice From New Spearfisherman
How about different fish behaviors, how to read them and predict what they will be doing next.

Re: Need Advice From New Spearfisherman
If you want to add some Freediving tips, or a section specifically targeting Freediving tips, techniques, etc it would be helpfull as well.
I really don't think you guys would have a problem making a 2-3 DVD set out of this if you spend enough time on each topic. Maybe aim the last disc towards more advanced topics.... and include some destination footage from different places. Bikini Models displaying "the" (or "their" either way) equipment would be nice, LOL! j/k (kind of) |

Re: Need Advice From New Spearfisherman
Kevin....If they are diving by themselves or leaving no one in the boat, tell them to make sure the anchor is set on the first dive. Best advice I was ever given.

Maybe slowing down and swimming with all their new gear ! Taking some underwater target practice first , some loading & unloading all underwater ! 1st few dives spearfishing make it more like a dive & enjoy attempt and just try and shoot a few fish , not everything you see.

I wouldn't advise that for anyone. Always leave a capable person of piloting the boat, on the boat at all times. Its more important than having a dive buddy IMO. |

Re: Need Advice From New Spearfisherman
Fish Id would be a big one as well as size estimation underwater.
Also along with the fish ID maybe a description of how that fish reacts to spearfisherman. How do they react when shot, do they hole up? Easily approachable or wary? Scale ranking of difficulty to approach and spear.

Re: Need Advice From New Spearfisherman
Thanks for all the responses guys. I have picked up at least 10 topics I did not think of. Please keep them coming, I need as much info as possible.
Also, I need really good pictures of a wide variety of fish from all areas. If you could post some of these it would help tremendously. I think I am going to combine the Fish ID and the fish photo gallery. Please include your name, type of fish, weight, and harvest location. This way, we can include lots of photos of you guys and also educate the folks who buy the video.

Kevin
Tell them to take a coast guard safe boating course and also learn a little about our rapidly changing weather. Lots of disclaimers too.

These 2 were taken with Sea Hornets. Mine is a Biller, but I'm sure Pat used an SS. I'm the older hairy one with the ARS, Pats the younger cleaner one with the mango:

Re: Need Advice From New Spearfisherman
These photos are some of my fondest memories from spearing. Friends sharing in the joys of a bountiful harvest after a great day on the water. Sea Hornet guns made it all possible.
