Word on the street is that there are some new cobia regs taking effect on Monday. They seem to be bs regs. Anybody know if there is any truth to this????

Re: New cobia regs

Yes, closed to recs in federal waters effective 20 June by SAFMC and a complicated set of regs in state waters effective 23 May by NCDMF. Check the websites for the new regs.

Re: New cobia regs

I believe it is now 2 cobia per boat (1 per person if fishing alone) and minimum of 40". You can have 1 cobia over 50". It also says no gaffing, not sure how this is going to translate into spearing. Season closes August 30.
