Re: New info on the Hero4
I saw this a few months ago, i was impressed. Kinda makes me want to buy a new one....BUT...people will never understand this....you gotta upgrade the computer, something with a quad core. You DEF need to keep the files on a usb3.0 external for rendering and editing...

Re: New info on the Hero4
The higher fps will be nice. But what we really need is higher quality on the streaming side (youtube etc).
Hero 3 footage straight out of rendering looks a good amount better and smoother then after youtube's compression takes place. Having a higher original quality will still be noticeable but not as much as it should be. |

Re: New info on the Hero4
thats Just what we need, more cat videos in super high resolution and a ridiculous frame rate
iphones have one of the best camera sensors on the market, but we still cant manage to get people to turn the got damn phone the right way. this fancy go pro model will be no exception...the amount of data being transferred into youtube at the moment for public viewing is mind boggling. Im sure at some point, youtube will have to start working on paid accounts....like vimeo n such.... the sad reality of most people when they get their go pros(and i know ive said this before) most people have no idea how to use them. The best advice I can give to potential go pro buyer , is that most people should start off with a used 2, because that was when file sizes were still manageable and because it was a bug free camera plus 64 gb card will work in them..that way they can get an idea of what filming/ editing is all about, and see if they want to go forth and upgrade to a better model. Even having a bad ass computer will still make videos, but without that external, itll still take an hour for a 4 minuet vid to export, but using that external hardrive (not usb 2.0) with high speed data transfer will make everything work sooo much better. In fact, at the current price, there is no reason for not having an SSD in a laptop, just that alone will make difference, but a multi core computer is really needed. Dual is just barely enough, but will work. Quad is easiest for most consumers to but, but a hexa core is what you really want. |

Re: New info on the Hero4
More info released today. I really like there 'cheap' option as I know loads of people who would love one but can't commit to the usual price tag of a Hero 2 or 3.
