Re: Current Vis Big Pine 31MM - Layton 72MM
Was out off the 7 mile bridge area with keezdiver and Mobile Diver yesterday (thanks again guys, Jeff for the invite and Steve for the boat!)
Hit some deeper stuff on scuba (first time for me in a good while). First dive to 135' vis was stellar (70' or so) until we hit 90' and then it dropped to about 40'. Nice little cuban refugee wreck...nothin but a ton of bait and a big fatty jewfish. Hit the bridge rubble after for 3 dives. Vis was weird...hazy on top and bottom, clear in the middle. Temp on all dives was 78 at the bottom. Conditions where FLAT calm...it just got flatter and flatter all day. And all the squalls just seemed to go the opposite way from where we were. Oh and lots of reef sharks on the rubble.

Jeff, what you wearing for a wetsuit? I'll give you and Jess a call this weekend. Just in case, I lose some lemon colored shafts. Or, if I need to look for some of yours/Jess.

Re: Current Vis Big Pine 31MM - Layton 72MM
Im staying in Marathon about 1/2 mile from 7mile bridge. Vis around the bridge was 5-6ft. Got a nice hog around the bridge and saw pleanty of other fish. Then went over to Sombrero reef and the vis was 8-10feet.

Re: Current Vis Big Pine 31MM - Layton 72MM
Off marathon was horrible today. Went ocean side, vis was like 10ft.
So we went out bayside to find hopefully some better vis, and it sucked out there. All the way out to like 8 miles. |
