Triton Open, May 6th

Hey Everyone,
The Monterey Bay Tritons would like to invite you to join us on May 6th for the Triton Open. We will be diving the Monterey/Carmel area. After the comp we will be providing a lunch, awards, and as always our awesome raffle. The best way to sign up is to visit our website at www.montereybaytritons.com. I have attached a copy of the rules and a map of how to get to Oak Newton Park where the pre-dive meeting and the weigh in will be. We do except same day registration, but it's best to do it ahead of time. This is an open meet so everyone is welcome.

It was 38 inches and 20 pounds...spawned out and empty belly, but plenty meaty.

Last drop of the day...was so stoked!

Ate the hell out of the head...

Jim

Re: Triton Open, May 6th

You Tritons need to do a better job promoting this really cool event.

Besides the great folks (all the Tritons I have met have been super friendly and welcoming), killer prizes and world class Amadeo art...Monterey is an awesome place to be right now!!!

Viz has been stellar in Monterey recently (40-45 feet last Saturday PM), and I have found some nice fish off local reefs...

Stripers are also starting to run off the beaches up and down the coast for those that want to try their luck in the surf...

Salmon bite has also been pretty damn good if you wanna make a weekend out of it and try and get in on some of that action!!

And the weather and scenery are hard to beat!!

Hope you guys get a good turnout!!

Sincerely,

Jim

Best of luck to everyone, looks like Saturday is going to be firing. I'm still planning to make it up there but hope it chills out a wee bit.

Re: Triton Open, May 6th

Hey Guys,
Sorry to announce this, but the Triton Open scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled. Weather reports show a ten foot swell with 28 knot winds. After consulting with the club's board the determination was made that conditions were unsafe to dive. We are looking to reschedule the event for later in the year, and will keep you posted. For those of you that have paid, you will be getting a complete refund. Sorry for the cancellation, but safety must come first.
