Seriously! If it isn't him, he gets my vote as the replacement.

Awesome thread for sure. The pix of those fish you guy took are ****ing HUGE! I wish they'd stock are waters with like 1,000,000 of those 100lb yellows you get in Ozzie.

Re: Spearing on the west coast of Oz

The spearing around Darwin would be in dirty water as the tides are massive (around 35 to 40 feet) but there are good fish! Darwin is a long way from where I am living ! Havn't speared there yet! Probably won't! plenty of other places with clean water not too far from home!

Pics of Steep Point from the beach showing Dirk Hartog Island to the right, great place to spear, only about 600 miles from home. We can drive to it over night!

Looks and sounds like a trip to Baja! You are stoked to have that kind of diving so close to home.

Re: Spearing on the west coast of Oz

Wow, that's about how far I drive to dive for Abalone in California. Bummer about Darwin being dirty water diving. Unfortunately I don't have a choice about where I go in Oz. I'm sure I'll make do. Just gotta find someone with an open seat on their boat!

Re: Spearing on the west coast of Oz

No spearing here this weekend! Swell going to 14 feet and wind gusts to 51 knots. All those fish will be getting just that little bit bigger!
