Look on page 5 on the right hand side under "species".
Now, look at what is considered deepwater species and what grouper are considered shallow water species.
See it?

Now, imagine what a lawyer could do with that and some of you may finally understand...

Then why weren't "deep water species", and not just "Warsaw" excluded?

I'm just trying to make some sense of this soap opera.

Given my observations over the years I would call this the GROGAN rule.

I will come to the defense of the west side guys on this one Rik. Would you rather drive 3 hours by car after the meeting ends go sleep on your own bed and get up at 5:30 and be on your spot at sunrise or leave the captains meeting, climb on the boat, then run 80-130+ miles (some years in rough ass weather) to your spot then sleep on a bean bag till the sun comes up. I think we have it pretty good if you ask me. We were still able to get 8 drops on 3 tanks running that profile described above.

When the rule is written in the book, it will read precisely the way I have stated on several occasions.
There were a lot of things missing in the book this year including a full schedule of events.
Please keep in mind that there is a new crew of guys "managing" this event every year.
Hopefully, we can be perfect next year.

As it stands, we had the 3rd largest spearfishing event in recorded history.
People from as far away as Hawaii, California, and Louisianna attended.
Big fish were weighed in, everybody who attended partied and had a great time.
Despite this immature, petty bullshizt that Tony Grogan and his cronies try and promulgate, I will call that an overwhelming success.

How many years will it take your rule to get in the "Book" Rich?

Just kidding - LOL

The SPO is a success - I do not question that Rich. I have competed in the SPO for a few years and really enjoy the event. It has been stagnant in attendance growth, but that does not matter to me. I like most of the people I see there and they are friendly in person.

In terms of sporting events in general, something with less than 300 contestants is not really all that significant in spite of the big egos involved. Think about it - does it really matter to most people other than those who keep crowing about it?

Check out this guy's list:

http://www.topendsports.com/events/top100.htm

By the way, the voting is going well in the poll. If you have not done so - vote now and see the current tabulated results.

Hey Tony, isn't it better to be stagnant in growth with the biggest turnout of any tournament than rapidly declining in growth to the point of almost extinction like the Spear Wars series? My guess is yes and that probably pisses you off to the point of being a constant pain in the ass, which is understandable.

Welcome back Bottom Dweller. Brilliant point.

I am fine with the attendance at my tournaments. Everyone has fun and the prize table is killer.

The per contestant prizes ratio is probably the highest in the world, but who cares?

Scott, did you vote in the poll? You have a good eye for these things being a commercial guy.

Peace, Tony

Nice fish Tony.

A legal to take sportfish from the grouper category but removed from the allowable species list just when a wave of cold water came ashore in Florida bringing with it schools of these fish... Boy, what a fukin coincidence!! Dont take a brain surgeon. Had it been allowed, the fish above illustrates how things would have turned out.

Man up and admit it was a chickeshit move. Safety reasons my ass.

Lee, that is wishful thinking.

All they will do is continue to make vile personal attacks from the family-friendly,

sponsor-friendly safety of their toilet bowl inside the locker room.

We passed 1,000 views on this thread in 12 hours from 11 am to 11pm.

Too funny!

I resent that remark Tony, that was uncalled for. But seriously...here is your precious 2007 Warsaw mounted above my toilet, and it really is beautiful.

Howie, you are so classy.

Please stop with your toilet humor.

It is way too funny! LOL

Here is my warsaw that made you cringe back then.

If I am a "loser" for coming in second place, is that how you also regard all the other "losers"?

I imagine you have never seen one under water. Or have you?

Lee's Taxidermy does such great work!

I have recommended Lee to many people.

Now, have you got your anger out of your system yet?
