Willow Beach Graveyard (This really bugged me)

Dove Willow yesterday as I haven't been out there in a while. Have to say I was definitely in for a surprise and not a good one! Saw a very large school of Razorbacks to start the day off and thought I was going to at least have some fun ripping some carp. Was hoping to bring home a nice 20 pounder for my sweet Okinawan neighbor who makes a very mean curry stew out of them (It really is good!). After about 5 minutes of not seeing any other fish in the water I began rolling up on a scene that was repeated over and over again. There was a very large population of Coots on the water and as such, unfortunately, there was a dead coot underwater about every 50yds or so. All of them died after becoming tangled on fishing line and drowning! I have to say I'm not against anglers and I don't mind throwing a line in the water every now and again but this was disturbing! The only fish I saw for two miles worth of swimming was that school of razorbacks and one very large and fat catfish! Nothing else was there at all not one single carp or striper just dead bird after dead bird.

Ya that stinks. I was just freediving in a small reservoir and saw a rainbow trout hooked on a line with a little flasher and no one fishing nearby, so I grabbed the line and pulled him in. I followed the other end of the line to another hooked rainbow trout! Guess they were just playing tug of war

Nothing like making the best out of a bad situation.
