I hope Carter pulls through this ordeal. Say a prayer for his recovery.

I have been going off that same area for years. The day before the accident my son and I were out there.

There are buoys/moorings marking reefs for divers and fisherman all over that area in 12-22 ft of water. I wonder how far offshore the boat was driving along the beach.

That sucks.
Keep drilling into my son watch out for boats, more to the point listen for boats. Don't expect them to see you.

I was offshore last night cruising at 15 knots south from Jupiter Inlet back down to my home port inside Palm Beach Inlet after sight-seeing cruising up the intracoastal with my daughter and her boyfriend. I was thinking that with President Trump in residence with flashing blue and red lights seen offshore, the Coast Guard and Secret Service probably have special radar tracking in place for approaching vessels surrounding the President. Since Carter's incident happened during the Trump Thanksgiving week residency at Mar-A-Lago which is very near the Breakers Resort accident site, they very well may have interesting data points as to your question about the route of the 36 foot Yellowfin Vessel that should be preserved for future accident analysis.

I always wondered why there is no mandatory spped limit within a certain distance from the seashore.... like 5 knots within 500 yard... and minimum speed within 150.

Does it matter? Billionaire with alcohol and open containers, investigation still ongoing, still no charges. Imagine if Joe Plumber in his 19ft crap boat did this instead. I hope you get better Viss.

Sad story. Gut wrenching blog his family has put up about his recovery. Extensive injuries to both legs arms and lots of surgeries and unknowns still. He is a fighter that's for sure. I think the GoFundme Page is nice and all but the boat operator and family need to step up and assist this guy and his family during this long recovery process.

The attorneys for this case contacted my boss to interpret the GPS data. I encouraged him to decline.
