Carribean Ciguatera

In Guadeloupe, shot a ~3' barracuda and a few yellow/blue jacks. The locals claim the 'cuda to be ok, but the yellow jacks to be poisonous....

Anybody have any knowledge on the subject?

Re: Carribean Ciguatera

I would listen to the locals. When I lived in Puerto Rico, I got Ciguatera 4 times! 3 of them with fish that were not supposed to have it; King mackerel, Hogfish and a 3' barracuda.

One side of the island had it and the other don't. Locals knew about it.
