Re: Arizona Diving???
I'm in Mesa,AZ. Most of the local lakes have bad vis(less then 3') Lake Pleasant is exception and can have vis up to 20' at times.
You can spear Stripers at Powell as well as two legal game fish a day during certain times of the year on the Utah side. Stripes can be taken on the Colorado River also. The only real(legal) game fish that can be speared in AZ is Tilapia with the rest being Suckers, Carp, Buffalofish and Goldfish. Rocky Point Mexico is 3.5 hours away and you will need to spear on a favorable tide and weather conditions. San Diego is around 5 hrs and LA 5.5 hrs. I have a around a dozen friends here that spearfish but only a couple do it more then 5 times a year and most are on SCUBA.

Re: Arizona Diving???
Senator wash along the arizona california border is fun. Lake Mohave is a blast for carp and stripers I had 20' vis the last time I was there and am most likely headed there on sunday. So there is some diving kind of in Arizona for stripers, but from phoenix it's a good bit of a drive. By the way the utah limit starting in june is the same as the angler limit

Re: Arizona Diving???
Lake Powell is a great place to dive. I was just there this last week. The rules have actually changed and you can take more than two game fish on the Utah side of Powell. The regulations state that you can take the same numbers as anglers. At Powell striper's and carp don't have a limit of how many you can take and can be speared year around.
