Doing my part against these lionfish
I went out with a local school for one week and we did shore dives for this week all over st John. We bagged 6 lionfish and the same amount of lobster including one 15 pound lobster. On our last day we went to the mangroves in hurricane hole. Gladly no lionfish. Lots of Nassau grouper during the week glad to see them making a come back. This is the stuff happening here with regards to lions.
The school does this again in the spring so I will definitely be there if anyone is interested. Pm me if you are and I will get the exact dates.

Re: Doing my part against these lionfish
Update: my brother and I killed two lionfish in a abandoned fish trap with a small Nassau grouper. We had no commercially produced spears because we were in the BVI so we used a homemade one made from a fishing rod blank. Not enough power with the band so we stabbed them primitive style.
