Lung biopsy
Sadly I’m faced width having a needle biopsy on my lungs. Seems really invasive and I wondered if anyone on this forum had gon thru this? Did i affect your diving after the procedure? Did you suffer from complications? Looking for feedback on this procedure from a long time spearfishermans perspective, any insights would be appreciated.

Re: Lung biopsy
I would call divers alert network and get their input before hand.

Re: Lung biopsy
I had a lung puncture many years ago and it healed 100% after few months.
Good luck!

Re: Lung biopsy
Usually a lung biopsy wont affect anything like that. It's a small tissue sample, usually on a growth, its almost like taking part of a wart off your hand.
Unless this is a unique biopsy I wouldn't worry about it. |

Re: Lung biopsy
Sorry I missed this Mikel. It was a surgery procedure where they also removed my spleen (Bazo). And I still can dive.

Re: Lung biopsy
Did having your spleen removed have a negative impact on the ability to hold your breath?

Re: Lung biopsy
I would say not. My bottom time and breath hold are above average among my friends. I feel like nothing has changed.
