Re: Puerto Rico Blue Water Hunting
That's an impressive snapper catch for the "supposed" fished out waters of P.R. Congratulations Roberto on yet another epic outing.

Re: Puerto Rico Blue Water Hunting
Weather has been great, cant believe I have not go out, the fish are so happy when I have to work, will post a few old pics.
The Minke whale is rarely seen here, mostly we have lots of humbacks, this one came to us, and we moved a few miles, and she follow, have no idea why. The Leatherback turtle , we were on a sargasum patch, looking for blue water fish, she came right behind my RIb boat, and breath really hard, as loud as a whale, huge head, she was over 6 feet long.

Campeador
The Minke was a one time thing, but something I will never forget. I was filming on a sargasum bead shooting wahoo and Mahi Mahi. He had just shot a wahoo out of a big school of wahoo (Peto) and Mahi Mahi (Dorado) , it was a nice kill shot, and we saw this hugeeee shark appear out of the blue,by the time we realiced it was a whale our hearts wereway past the red line, I turned my video camera to find it was kind of fog, so I hurried to the boat to get the still pic camera to at least take a pic of it. We had a blast , she was like a curious puppy.

Re: Puerto Rico Blue Water Hunting
Imaging shooting a blue water fish, thinking it does not get any better than this, you will take a pic of your meal, all of a sudden the shape of a bigo shark appears at the limit of your visibility, and it is your eyes underwater the limit, because it is as clear as water will get, your emotions change when you realice is not a big shark, but a strange looking whale, and of course, the whale is thinking exactly the same, " what the f@ck is that cammo suit".
You try to take pics of it, since you know it will be gone in a second, nobody will believe you, as always, the video camera is fogging,ARRRGGGG!!! WHAT A BLAST.

Great fan of the Minke after that, the smallest of the baleen whales, great diving buddies. http://www.minkewhale.org/ http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jaap/minke.htm

Re: Puerto Rico Blue Water Hunting
Check the hands of the spearo, he is got one of those cheap
disposable UW cameras , at the same time he is lifting the wahoo , he is taking pics. Wet suit is a homemade cammo.
