Nice dive. It kills me how desolate it is down there compared to what I'm used to.

I was so damn excited to actually get a grouper, that I left my light in the hole. I haven't got one in a looong time around here...

Eating good there, Jim.... I'd bet with a little "shock" motivation you'd have got that black out of the hole a little quicker.

We have a lot of people here and the target waters 70-100 ft deep are a thin 2 mile stretch that go from 3 miles to 5 miles from shore. A lot of people crammed into a thin slice of water means fewer fish. If you like diving you often have beautiful viz, and scenery, playful sharks to keep you alert, and obnoxious goliaths to steal your fish. Whats not to love?

If you have a captain who knows what they are doing, they can still put you on fish.
Had a nice day the other day and captain put me on some fish. Although a goliath stole my cubera, i managed two other nice fish.

Re: A few Bugs and a Black

Yeah, I understand the logistics. Too many people trying to divide to few fish with many opportunities. I am as spoiled as they come, hardly anyone outside my small circle of friends see the quality and amount of fish we do.
A lot also has to with forage fish, lots more the further north you go along with more bottom , fewer people and much longer rides. Thankfully, it's not worth it for many people to dive around me.
