Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Could anyone recommend a captain or charter group to do some blue water spearfishing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. There is a group out of Punta Mita that advertises luxurious spearing adventures which is not exactly what I'd be looking for.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. |

A guy named Peecha.
He's out of Punta Mita. Very experienced with divers. You can do a search of Joe Acevedo's posts.....

Re: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
You can also try Captain Pablo's Pangas. He is based out of Sayulita (about 40 minutes from PV). We went out in January with him with a group of spearos from the Houston area and didnt land that many fish, but this could have been due to bad visibility/ time of the year. They did their best to put us on the fish. Ask Pablo or Patty, to hook you up with a guy named 'Chingalin'. He is a crazy/badass spearo who will serve as your guide. Their prices are very reasonable (around 250 + tip for 4 hours with guide and captain). You can look at their website although the prices are slightly higher.

Re: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
During that trip we also went offshore for tuna and wahoo with Melani's punta mita expeditions but didnt land much. It just wasn't the right time of the year or the right time of the month to go I guess. We still had fun. Make sure you research when is a good time to go depending on what species you wish to target so you wont be disappointed.
