Mako Pure CF fins vs. Neptonics GFT Carbonio fins
So, I've seen enough of my plastic freedive fins and it's time to move on to something a little easier on the legs. My budget would be around 300 bucks and as the title says these two are right there. I have never owned CF fins before so i have no idea what to expect or what to look for. I know I want softer fins as my legs are crampier than my wife's uterus at that time of the month, my calves specifically. I read another thread about bluetec's but those are just a little too much for me to swallow right now. If anyone has experience with either of these your input would be appreciated. Also, I just happen to come across these through the spearboard, I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks ahead of time, Jeremy |

Re: Mako Pure CF fins vs. Neptonics GFT Carbonio fins
The GFT blades were my first set of carbons and I had them paired up with Pathos Footpockets. I drove all the way from the keys to try these on with Andrew before I bought them.
They tend to run stiffer then most other fins, so you will certainly want a soft. I didn't know what I didn't know at the time so comparing them to other blades wasn't really an option and got an M instead. They were a million times better then my plastics I was using and a lot stronger too. I was shore diving 3-6 mile worth of drifts with these. BUT I was randomly diving one day with Kristofer Landers in the Keys and asked to try his pair of Nautilus Soft Carbons, next thing I know I was darting around the reef soo efficiently, it wasn't even funny. I bought a pair of Nautilus Carbon blades THAT night and have not looked back, they come with a nice warranty too, so keep that in mind. Also note, you can mold the Pathos foot pockets to your feet for an even better custom fit. I used a hairdryer to warm up the rubber, brought them outside and sat next to the spigot. After putting them on, I cooled them off with the cold while wearing them.

Re: Mako Pure CF fins vs. Neptonics GFT Carbonio fins
Ended up getting leaderfins Pure carbon in pathos pockets from spearamerica. Petros suggested medium stiffness as i am 6' 190lbs. I'm sure they will be way better than the plastic and i could always swap out the blades for soft in the future. Thanks for the input, I will post some feedback once i get a chance to get them in the water.
