Do people dive Rockaway Reef?
I just moved from San Diego (originally from Florida) and need a dive buddy. Saw Rockaway Reef on navionics and heard it's a good spot to hook up on stripers, but wasn't sure if it's a dangerous spot for spearing or not.
I've dove a handful of trash piles and artificial reefs, but know nothing about this area. Anyone out there got a boat I can jump on or crazy enough to jump on my tandom kayak to give it a go? Hit me up! I'll buy the beer afterwards and pitch in on gas if you got the boat! (Picture below is off a tank near the Destin coast a few weeks ago; about 60-70ft) Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk Last edited by sicric; 11-25-2017 at 02:43 PM. |

You live in the area? I'm jonesing to get in the water! The wrecks off San Diego are about the same distance offshore as this reef. I've noticed I definitely good weather for it to work here though. PM me if you're down to head out one weekend. Or, if you got a boat ride, I'll pitch in on gas and get the beer. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
