Re: Current Vis Biscayne Bay / Elliott area and Miami

This forum is just blowing up with reports for Miami..... yesterday viz was pretty bad @ 5-10ft. on the patches between Key Biscayne and Government Cut. Very strange because the bay was top to bottom.

Water was warm warm warm.

Patches off Key Biscayne and Gov. Cut, top to bottom in 45'. Lots of small mutton out there.

Well how was it today?
I am hoping to get out over the weekend at least one day.
Is it worth it or is the vis still milky?

Went lobstering today. Vis within 3 miles of land is 5'-10' vis. This was during peak of high tide. I could only imagine at low tide.

Any recent vis reports for this area? I am planning on Sunday, I figure if the seas lay down the water should clear up nicely by then.
Any thoughts?

Water on the reef was nice yesterday (10/29), patch reefs and lobster spots were very murky though. I caught the outgoing tide so its usually pretty crappy then anyways. Its been blowing out of the E/SE for a while now but will probably die down for the weekend.

Thanks for the report.
I am hoping that the calmer wind today will let the water clear a bit on the patch reefs. taking a few rods along just in case.

Re: Current Vis Biscayne Bay / Elliott area and Miami

No report, I would guess it will be milky on the reef because of all the wind this week.
If you get out Saturday make a report, I'm planning on going out Sunday.

Glad to see the water is clearing up. I'm pretty sure it's ok to shoot sea trout, but I thought the mangrove snapper limit was 5 per person.
