Question Legal to dive Lanikai?

Hey guys i am currently in Kailua visiting the family and i want to catch some dinner for them. I was wondering if it is legal to spear about 100 yards out from Lanikai. I know i have to watch out for the tourists in the kayaks but i can avoid them.

Re: Legal to dive Lanikai?

It is legal. Definitely need to watch for the kayaks. The traffic there is very heavy and none of them seem to know that they need to stay away from a dive flag/buoy. There is also a big tiger that frequents the area. Need to go pretty far out to find decent grounds, past the breakers. Dive safe!
Aloha, J
