Re: Spring tog

I’m itching to get in the water too. Think the weather and the ocean water temp is still a little cold. Tog will probably be hanging out in some deeper waters. Hopefully the weather will warm up and these storms will settle down so that the water will clear up. Last week of April is when I got in the water for the first time last season so just be patient.

Re: Spring tog

Jersey isnt ct or ri but here the fish dont come till water nears 50. This cold is really pissn me off! Our season opened april 1. Closes end of april till summer. They really screw us for tog. By the time water hits 50 and fish move in season is closeing. Then when it opens again in summer all the big fish have moved out and the limmit is one fish. One small fish!

Re: Spring tog

Is 50 the Magic number for them? I usually don't get out until june but want to start earlier this year.

48-50 brings them out in droves spawning in my limited experience. Praying we get a early season here in nj. Water is 44 now and the season closes the last day of the month until August, we get hosed every year.

We're lucky enough to live on the border of CT and RI. If one state is closed the other is usually open.

New Jersey seasons and limits are shit. Feels like they're built for commercial guys and screwing recreational fishers.
