The second website belongs to Cyril Malzac a French collector of underwater gear, including spearguns. He also has whaling rifles that shoot spears with cartridges, in other words powder guns. When you see the description artisinal it means home-made or an owner conversion, usually new timber barrels replacing the original on a standard grip handle and mech.

On some timber guns you will see three grip handles, the foremost handle is to brace with your foot while you cock the bands on the gun, so you push with your leg while pulling back on the wishbone. That idea dates back to the “Bandol Trio” of Jacques Cousteau, Philippe Tailliez and Frédéric Dumas. http://www.spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=198027
