Re: Sarasota dive incident?

I just read about this...now, before I say something stupid, I am going over it in my head over and over again, how the heck did this happen? Is this another one of the many hazards of our beloved sport, or, is this a careless mistake, OR, is this an unfortunate accident involving a misfire of a faulty gun?? I pinder this...

Honestly, we're lucky that this stuff doesnt happen more often, it's actually suprising that it doesn't. Be careful out there fellas, know your target and what lies beyond and follow basic weapon safety rules.

Prolly a little of all of it. He took it in the head. Their taking him off life support after the family says their goodbyes. Just read an update. Just a terrible thing.

Re: Sarasota dive incident?

Parents of "victim" have been appearing on local news. His Mother is blaming spear guns for incident, much like anti-firearms nuts do. From reports these kids likely had no training, were diving in poor conditions. While this is a tragic incident, like most other incidents it can be attributed to human factors rather than equipment issues.

terrible accident, tough for everyone involved, I really wish people would stop blaming guns, or in this case spear guns, even IF this was a misfire, and the gun failed, it should not have been aimed at person. this was a terrible accident.
