Out of JP Tuesday

Went SW to 60' and saw nice blue water. Vert. vis. was almost top to bottom. Horz. vis. was 35'-40'. Brought aboard some decent hogfish and mangoes. Red grouper too small. Lots of nice size gags and a couple ARS were seen. Next to 65'. About the same. Got back to the dock around 2 pm.. Bottom water temp. was 64F-65F according to 3 different dive computers. Almost forgot. We trolled for a little bit to the next spot. Got a nice spanish mackeral and a 20lb. class king fish. Water is warming up fast.

Awesome - amazing he differences in water temp - local news is saying water temps are 77 degrees, but that must be surface temps in places like CW beach or Tampa Bay. Seems like once you start going even 20 feet down it changes fast.

Eric, go to Clwr. Beach with a thermometer around 5 pm.. Wade out to "knee deep" water and put thermometer in to water. Take a reading. That's how you get 77F. water temp. now.

There were a few other boats out just trolling for kings and getting them. I was scanning the vhf popular boat to boat channels. The kings are about 3 weeks early. Just run out to blue color water.

That's how it looked for us in that area on Sunday. Really nice conditions. Just not too fishy for us that deep. Better shallower.
