Re: Scup Meet

I won't make it, too bad but I had a good laugh reading your posts guys.
I'm sure we could make an international event out of this with all the different nationalities we have around here. Oh Yeah you might not know but the french took over Cambridge and the Russian are working on South Boston.

Olivier Lauzon told me he might come. Now that'd be a trip down memory lane ;-)

Re: Scup Meet

So it looks like those people heading over on the ferry will be leaving at 9 AM from Point Judith. I was just wondering about taxis getting from the ferry to Mohegan Bluffs, is this something that needs to be set up ahead of time? Or do you just show up and they're there, ready to go?

Depending on the number of people will there be enough taxis, lol? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Taxis will not be a problem.

Still in. See you at the ferry boys. I'll bring all of my cameras to commemorate the event.

Re: Scup Meet

Forecast for Sat on Block Island.

Saturday: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Winds 5 to 10 MPH out of the north.

Should be good as long as the rain is light.

Re: Scup Meet

I'm gonna try to fit everything in a decent sized pack. Probably gonna try to bring some water and power bars or something like that. I was thinking of picking up one of those soft coolers, fillet the fish at the beach, and bring a little bit of ice for the fillets.

One thing I'm trying to work out right now is bringing the speargun on the ferry. They gave me crap about that once before. Maybe wrap it up in a towel or something. Anyone have any ideas about this? I know they have carry bags, etc.

Re: Scup Meet

Speargun bag. If you don't have one, definitely get one. Bob has some for sale at BC Powerbands. I just bought an armor bag from him and actually loaded everything I need for this weekend in it including extra waters, knife, belt and fillet bags... oh, and of course suit, fins, gun, lines, float. You get the point. Perfect for this.

Re: Scup Meet

For those of you that are going on the ferry on Saturday, it may be a good idea to get your tickets ahead of time. SOmetimes the ferry does get sold out. Follow the below link to the Block Island Ferry website, to get yours.

http://ticketing.blockislandferry.com/Default.asp

Remember the first ferry is at 9:00 AM, you must be there 1/2 hour before departure if you have pre-purchased your ticket, or they can sell your seat.

Last boat back is at 5:00 PM.

Cheers,

Anson
