Vis???

Does anyone know what the vis and water temp are like in beaver lake? How bad has the rain hurt the vis?

Re: Vis???

All I have heard is second hand but it is supposedly spotty at best. Also we have way more water than usual so the fish are spread out.

Hey Grant,

I talked with Jim Butler yesterday re: Beaver Lake. He has been doing lots diving lately (moving dock cables). He stated the water is 50 degrees. Surprising the vis is pretty decent in proximity to the dam. The water is very high (running over the top)

Bull Shoals lake is amost 30 feet above power pool and no vis.

So, if you wanted to dive, Beaver is the spot, but still pretty cold.

Les

Re: Vis???

Les, sorry I missed you last night. I ended up going out there and I was able to stay in for about an hour with my set-up(my two suits). My watch broke so I have no idea how cold it was, the viz wasn't bad but definitely not great. I saw a bunch of carp, some around 30ft and A LOT by the shore line where trees have been submerged.

Re: Vis???

Your best bet is the damn, I drove by the NE bridge and it looked like chocolate milk. I dive Greers a lot. Went to check out my boat and I needed a boat to get to mine. The like is 25ft. high. Hope it all goes down soon.
