Re: Daily Vis report thread
Dove Saturday at BI. Met a few of the Barnegat boys who were diving off of the boat. Drank too much the night before and didn't sleep, so diving was tough. Got 4 triggers, one over 4lbs, and that was it. Saw a bunch of cownose rays and stingrays too, but no sharks.

Re: Daily Vis report thread
So I had actually shot a 4.7 lb trigger on June 28th and submitted my stuff. But apparently someone just shot a 4lb 12.8 ounce trigger off of a boat out of brigantine. So I’m beat in that regard. Lots of big fish around this year.

Re: Daily Vis report thread
Shot a 4 lb 8 oz trigger Sunday but didn’t want to go through process. Called them Tuesday just to find out what it is now and they said someone brought in a 5+ Tuesday morning.

Re: Daily Vis report thread
Yeah, I will never go through that process again. Too much effort. When they told me it was mandatory for a biologist to see the fish to verify the species and said one wasn’t in the office, they asked me to freeze the fish whole. I said “I don’t shoot fish for the pleasure of it, I do it to eat them. I’m not wasting this fish by freezing it for a submission.” Somehow they got somebody to check it out the same day but made me drive down to the facility.
I’d say for the most part our species are fairly identifiable via photo. Don’t know why it’s so complicated. Whatever, just my two cents. |
