Re: Spearfishing near boca raton?
Deerfield ledge is a good ~25' dawn patrol during bug season. The FIRST guy there gets the legal bugs.
The outfall armor off the pavilion runs out a bit starting from about 20' (may be sanded in a bit), and runs out from there to the third reef. Good spot for snails of all types. There are several patch reefs off Boca, Deerfield and Highland Beach in about 30'. Lidar maps are your friend.

Re: Spearfishing near boca raton?
No where really unless u have a boat and those spots are about 35-45 ft. Alot of the shallow spots got covered. There used to be a bunch of rock piles in 12 ft just south of the jetty but last time i was there no rocks could be found. There are a few other spots in the same depth range but not sure if they are there anymore and usually never get any fish there anyway.

Re: Spearfishing near boca raton?
deerfield ledge is like 10-15ft (even before it got covered at most) covered almost completely by hurricane sandy making about 6-10ft now and fish less second reef is about 35-38ft on top and 40- 44ft to the sand there is fish there sometimes but its best to get there before the guys with the bubble boxes though i get a fair amount of bugs there during season but it will get bugged out quick hence the bubble box comment good lionfish reef...
